Norte Maar is please to announce our thirteen’s poet/artist collaborative publication! Pin the Tail on the Tiger includes 12 poems by Bob “The Dean of the Scene” Holman and art by Jessica Weiss. This publication joins the list of limited edition publications by Norte Maar.

Greenpoint Open Studios: 10 Must See Artists
Spring is here! So this weekend get your art groove back with Greenpoint Open Studios (April 29-May 1). Be the first to see fresh work by artists of North Brooklyn as they (and we) emerge from our their winter hibernation. From paintings, sculptures, film, photography, weaving/textiles, ceramics, and more, GOS has it covered when over 300 artists open their studio spaces to the public. Beat Nite Lite: Bay Ridge!
An artscene has been brewing in Bay Ridge! Now it's time to discover it! Norte Maar teams up with the creative team at the 7th Annual Storefront Art Walk (SAW) in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to bring a special daylight edition of Beat Nite. We are calling it: Beat Nite Lite. We are excited to lead the charge out to Bay Ridge to support opening day of the SAW on Saturday, May 14. We've even chartered the Beat Nite Bus!

NM Announces the collaborative ballet line up for CounterPointe 2016

NM's Beat Nite takes on Gowanus!
Norte Maar re-imagines the Beat Nite featuring the artistic community of Gowanus, Brooklyn! Beat Nite is the neighborhood-wide late night gallery hop recognized for putting Bushwick on the map, and for this 13th edition sets its sights on a new part of Brooklyn. On Friday, October 16, join the throngs of art ponies that will trek out to discover the thriving art scene in Gowanus through a self-guided tour featuring 10 galleries and alternative art spaces .

Game on! NM announces its plans for BOS 2015!
Bushwick, Brooklyn - Norte Maar is pleased to participate in the 2015 Arts in Bushwick annual Bushwick Open Studios and Arts Festival. A cultural phenomenon, BOS2015 takes place Friday, June 5 – Sunday, June 7, 2015 and includes over 500 individual studios, shows, and exhibitions involving thousands of artists. This free event invites visual artists, performers, musicians, designers, and the public to celebrate creative expression in one of the most vital arts districts in the world.

Two new publications from Norte Maar!
Continuing its dedication to the literary arts, Norte Maar is please to announce the publication of two new literary volumes feature the collaboration between writers and visual artists. A Modicum of Mankind: new short stories by John Talbird with illustrations by Leslie Kerby. and Tobacco Hour: collaboration between poet Dara Mandle and artist Brece Honeycutt. A reading and book signing will be held at Luhring Augustine Bushwick (25 Kinckerbocker Avenue, Bushwick) on Sunday, April 19 at 4pm. Seated is first come basis. On view at Luhring Augustine: Philip Taaffe, new paintings.

NM's CounterPointe returns: new choreography by women for pointe
Coming this April, Norte Maar in collaboration with Brooklyn Ballet presents CounterPointe, the annual curated performance series featuring women choreographers making new work on pointe. CounterPointe is an annual performance series dedicated to presenting the latest experimental, innovative, risk-taking choreography that shows a depth of investment in ballet by women dance makers working with the pointe shoe. Investigating new and old territory the series highlights new work, opening up discussion, and creating a forum for women, young or old, emerging or established, to take risks.
